As the legal use of marijuana continues to expand from one state to another, it should come as no surprise that there is a growing market for a variety of products. From hemp oil companies that offer a number of new materials. Acting as an anti-inflammatory agent, anticonvulsant, antipsychotic agent, antioxidant, antiemetic, and anxiolytic, premium hemp CBD products offer a number of medical benefits. As a result, the hemp oil companies across the country continue to work on new products that can serve as a potential medicine for the treatment of epilepsy, neuroinflammation, oxidative injury, anxiety and schizophrenia, as well as vomiting and nausea. And while there are still many states that have still not legalized the use of any marijuana, this is a fact that appears to be changing.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids that have been identified in cannabis. Accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract, CBD is a major phytocannabinoid, a chemical that can be used for a number of services including current medical treatments and options that are still being developed.

Currently, there are only six states which hold CBD and any type of cannabis completely illegal. These states include: Idaho, South Dakota, West Virginia, Nebraska, Kansas, and Indiana. As the number of states that consider recreational and medical marijuana legal, it should be expected that there will be more and more hemp oil companies that will work to expand in the business industry and the products that they offer.

CBD oil that is produced by hemp plants and CBD oil that is produced by marijuana plants have a distinct difference. As an example, hemp plants carry low amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but high amounts of CBD. Marijuana plants, in contrast, carry high amounts of THC and low amounts of CBD. Consider some of these facts and figures about the hemp oil industry:

  • Containing less than 0.3% THC, CBD is the second most common cannabinoid found in cannabis followed by THC.
  • In the 28 states, and Washington D.C., where medical marijuana is now legal, CBD is also protected under those same laws.
  • Reaching heights of 10 to 15 feet before harvesting, agricultural hemp grows differently than marijuana plants and looks like bamboo.
  • Cannabis sativa, indica, and ruderalis are the different plant genuses that are referred to as cannabis.

From unique strains of hemp to more common products developed by hemp oil manufacturers, this is a growing industry that will provide a great deal of earning potential for forward thinking investors.
